The Northern Ireland Assembly: MLAs at Stormont

The Northern Ireland Assembly meets at Stormont in Belfast. Its members are called Members of the Legislative Assembly, or MLAs, and there are 90 of them. They are elected using a form of proportional representation, and ministerial posts are shared between the main parties in a power-sharing arrangement.
