Life in the UK Test

About Life in the UK Test 2026

Life in the UK Test 2026 is a free study aid that helps people prepare for and pass the Life in the UK Test. The test has 24 questions, lasts 45 minutes, and you need 18 correct to pass. It is required for most people applying for indefinite leave to remain and for British citizenship, and for many it is a stressful, high-stakes step. Our goal is to make it less stressful by giving you clear notes, realistic practice and honest guidance, free of charge.

Who runs this site

This site is built and maintained by a small, independent education-technology team that also runs our mobile study app. We are not a law firm or an immigration adviser, and we are not connected to the government or the official test provider. You can reach us any time at info@vioscale.co.uk, or through our contact page.

How we write our content

Every study note, practice question and explanation on this site is original content written by our team from publicly available facts about UK history, society, values and government. We do not copy the official handbook, which is Crown copyright, and we do not use or reproduce the confidential official test questions. Instead we teach the same underlying facts in our own words, with short memory tips to help them stick.

How the site is funded

We keep the core of the site free because the test matters and good preparation should not be behind a paywall. To cover our costs the free site is supported by advertising, and we offer an optional low-cost subscription that removes ads and adds guided study features such as spaced-repetition review and saved progress. You never have to pay to revise the notes, practise the questions, or sit the mock and timed exams.
