Pubs and leisure
Study note
Visiting a public house (pub) or bar is a popular social activity in the UK. You normally must be 18 or over to buy alcohol, and pubs may allow younger people in with an adult under certain conditions. Gambling, such as buying a National Lottery ticket, also has minimum age rules.
Memory tip: Must be 18+ to buy alcohol in a pub; age limits also apply to gambling.
