Driving licence age and vehicle rules
Study note
You must be at least 17 to drive a car in the UK, and you need a driving licence after passing a driving test. A vehicle must be registered with the DVLA, taxed and insured. Driving without insurance is a serious criminal offence, and a car over three years old needs an annual MOT.
Memory tip: Drive at 17; register with the DVLA, tax and insure; MOT yearly if the car is over 3 years old.
