British films and the BAFTAs

Study note

Some of the most successful films ever made, including the Harry Potter and James Bond franchises, have been produced in the UK. Recent British actors to win Oscars include Colin Firth, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Dame Judi Dench, Kate Winslet and Tilda Swinton. The British Academy Film Awards, run by BAFTA, are the British equivalent of the Oscars.
