Burns Night is held on 25 January each year and celebrates the life and work of the Scottish poet Robert Burns, who is sometimes called 'the Bard'. It is especially important in Scotland but is marked by many people elsewhere too.
People often celebrate with a Burns supper, an evening that traditionally includes haggis, the Scottish dish, along with readings of Burns's poetry and Scottish music. Burns wrote Auld Lang Syne, the song traditionally sung at New Year. So for this topic, remember that Burns Night is on 25 January and celebrates the poet Robert Burns.
