International organisations

Study note

The UK is part of several international organisations. It is a member of the United Nations (UN) and of the Commonwealth, an association of countries many of which were once part of the British Empire. The UK is also a member of NATO, a defence alliance.

Memory tip: UK is in the UN, the Commonwealth and NATO (it left the EU in 2020).
