20th-century British inventions: radar, the jet engine and the web

The 20th century saw many British inventions and discoveries. Radar was developed by Sir Robert Watson-Watt, the jet engine by Sir Frank Whittle, an RAF engineer, and the television by John Logie Baird. Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, and the structure of the DNA molecule was discovered in 1953 with British scientists involved.
